1.1 What is this course about?

NEWSFLASH! You are going to spend 50% of your waking hours at work doing your job, so you have a choice to make: Do you want to be one of those people who just shrugs and says “yeah, work is OK” and waste 50% of your life because you have to pay the bills? Or do you want to spend 50% of your life feeling energised and excited about what you do?

This course is all about how YOU will get more interviews to the jobs YOU WANT.

Getting more interviews means passing more interviews; that means more job offers, that will let you to choose what you want to do out of a number of options instead of just settling for the first option to come along.

Finding a job is a funnel but by the time most people find that out, they’re panicking and compromising the jobs they’re applying to.

This course teaches you to think about things differently, so you don’t end up disappointed, angry, frustrated and confused for most of your waking hours. In this course we teach you how to take control of your job search:

1. It will provide you with a more interesting and happy life! More interviews lead to more employment options. This leads to better roles for you, as you don’t have to settle for the first job offer that comes along just to pay the bills.

You will get better terms in any job you do take More interviews lead to more options and that improves your negotiation position with ANY employer, which leads to better working terms for you, whether it be a higher salary, higher signing bonus, more stock options, more holiday days, better saving contributions or many other things you can negotiate on, but only if you’re in a good negotiating position.

3. You will get a job FASTER! Most of the time people spend “job hunting” is really spent WAITING(!). That means doing nothing! You will do that too if you don’t decide NOW that having more options is your best chance at getting a job you love on the terms you want. You will WAIT for a response from each interview round and think “there’s no point in interviewing with another company as I might get this job already in one week”, when in reality (a) you might not pass the interview and then you would have just wasted all your waiting time (b) you might find a far more interesting and exciting position than the one you interviewed for (c) if you do actually pass the first interview you could negotiate yourself much better terms by having other options.
